What is different about a Mercury battery

Mercury trucks and SUVs want cranking power. Big engines and big alternators mean large batteries, in American BCI group sizes on older models and European DIN on many newer ones. Recent models with start-stop use AGM and a battery monitor that should be reset.

Our vans are set up around Audi, which makes them well equipped for any car with monitored batteries and coding needs. For Mercury we bring the same tester, memory keeper and diagnostic tool.

What we check on a Mercury

  • High cranking power matters on V6 and V8 engines
  • Group size and terminal position differ from European cars
  • Newer models need a battery monitor reset
