Does a Li have a 12V battery?

Yes. All electric cars have one for low-voltage systems. It wears out like any other battery and is replaced separately from the main pack.

Can you jump start a Li?

We can power the 12V system so the car wakes up, then test the 12V battery and replace it if it has failed and is a serviceable type.

What is different about a Li battery

Every Li has a 12V battery alongside the main pack. It powers the locks, screens and the contactors that connect the high-voltage battery. When it fails the car appears dead even at full charge. We work on the 12V side only.
